It’s time to step unto the breach once more. The Call of Duty WW2 1.18 update is here and, with it, comes a brand-new division, new basic training add-ons, and a change to how XP is received in some situations. Read on the full 1.18 patch notes, as well as a look at the main changes, download size, new Cavalry division, and everything else you need to know for the June 25 update.
Call of Duty WW2 1.18 Update: Main Changes
The highlights from the 1.18 update are undoubtedly Division-based. The Cavalry is a new class aimed at rewarding team play over gung-ho running and gunning. You’ll be equipped with a shield, as well as being given more score from completing objectives. Two assists will even equal a kill, to ensure you’ll be feeling like a real part of the team.
There are also three new Basic Training perks. Wanderlust, Escalation and Specialist. More details of which below in the full patch notes.
Call of Duty WW2 1.18 Update: Download Size
The PS4 Call of Duty WW2 1.18 update clocks in at 2.5GB, while the Xbox One version is far chunkier, at 5.8GB.

FEATURE UPDATES
-
NEW Division: CAVALRY – The Cavalry is an objective-focused Division that leads the way forward to victory. This new Division wields the Cavalry Shield, which offers protection against enemy attacks. The Cavalry Division also has improved objective capabilities, which include capturing Domination flags faster, planting bombs in S&D quicker, and swiftly building and destroying walls in War Mode. To make this the true team-play Division, the Cavalry also gets more score from objectives, and every two assists equal a kill. Lastly, the Cavalry can get back to the objective quicker (and ram enemies on the way) by entering a Shield Charge while sprinting. When used expertly, the Cavalry can change the tide of battle and get that tank across the line. See below for more details on what “improved objective capabilities” entails.
-
NEW Basic Training: Escalation – If you love rushing with an SMG, then the Escalation Basic Training was made for you. After each kill, you can aim down sights twice as fast for a short period. This allows you to snap on to targets and take them down in rapid succession. Double Kills with Escalation instantly refill your magazine, so that you can keep slaying the opposition.
-
NEW Basic Training: Wanderlust – The new Wanderlust Basic Training is similar to personal Gun Game. Each life, you respawn with a new random gun (which has up to 6 attachments). And pressing TRIANGLE or Y (weapon switch) will provide a new weapon. This unusual Basic Training makes each life feel unique as you use whatever weaponry is available.
-
NEW Basic Training: Specialist – When equipped, Specialist allows you to select 3 Basic Trainings to earn instead of Scorestreaks. At 200, 400, and 600 score, you unlock each Basic Training. And at 800 score, you are granted all Basic Trainings in the game. Progress resets on death, so stay alert. Specialist allows skilled players to feel the power of having multiple Basic Trainings at once.

Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History
Call of Duty has had a ton of great weapons. But they can't all be the best. Here are our favorite ones.
-
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: UMP45
A Modern Warfare 2 fan favorite, the UMP45 can easily be considered the most efficient, all-around submachine gun in CoD's arsenal. High damage output, low recoil, precision, and its ability to hit targets at a long range made this weapon almost seem like a myth that most SMGs couldn't compare to, even to this day. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: SCAR-H
The SCAR-H was, in a sense, the evolution of the legendary AK-47. Featuring immense power and slightly better accuracy, the SCAR-H made players feel like a hungry, powerful tiger roaming the land in search of its next prey. Due to the power, there was some hefty recoil which could be subdued if fired in short bursts. If players activated the scavenger pro perk to work around the low amount of ammunition, they almost always had the distinct advantage. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: FAMAS
This fast firing assault rifle quickly became another fan favorite in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Whether it was during long range or close quarters combat, no one wanted to go head-to-head against seasoned shooters, especially those who mastered the weapon's recoil. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: Intervention
This is the best sniper rifle in the Call of Duty franchise, period. Introduced in MW2, the Intervention is still one of the most enjoyable and iconic sniper rifles to exist. With the right perks, such as stopping power, sleight of hand, and steady aim, there was no shortage of fun with this innovative sniper. The thermal scope made it twice as effective, while the smooth handling enabled players to move around with much more ease than the other elite sniper rifles in the franchise. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: Model 1887 Akimbo
You're probably grinning as you look at this picture. In MW2, the Akimbo was a horrific sight to see if you were on the wrong end of the barrel. This weapon was considered by some as a cheat code due to its immense power and one-shot kill. The range was surprisingly long and if you were running around the map using the dual wield option, you were virtually unstoppable. Acquiring killstreaks was like taking candy from a baby! -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: SPAS-12
When it comes to close quarters combat, the SPAS-12 pump shotgun was simply unmatched during the release of Modern Warfare 2. Not only did it have incredibly high damage, but it was able to kill another player with a single shot from distance, making it a lethal secondary weapon. Yes, MW2 featured shotguns as a secondary weapon and we loved it! -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: MP-40
The MP-40 sub machine gun has been featured in multiple Call of Duty titles, but was best used in World at War. This weapon is without a doubt one of the best weapons in the franchise's entire history, but also the most overpowered SMG. It was deadly as a stock weapon, but with the right attachments and perks, it outmatched even some of the best assault rifles Call of Duty has had to offer over the years. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: ACR
If there was one weapon that completely screamed "OP" it would be the ACR. If you played MW2 or MW3 - especially MW2 - the ACR was the epitome of an overpowered weapon. With little to no recoil and solid power, this gun was always an option for most players, regardless of the game mode or scenario. The iron sight was also one of the best in the Modern Warfare series, allowing you to use another useful attachment in that slot instead. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: M16A4
The M16 is one of the franchise's most popular weapons, and for good reason. Unlocked at level 1 in COD 4, most players became comfortable with this weapon at an early stage, with it's low recoil and powerful three-round burst. Also appearing in MW2, the M16 was one of the ideal go-to guns for those who were in a bit of a rut. -
Top 10 Weapons in Call of Duty History: AK-47
Arguably one of most known weapons, the AK-47 has been around for ages, and still holds up today as one of the most powerful assault rifles in existence. The extreme power and range enabled players to shoot through various walls and materials to kill opponents, and was also key in suppressive and covering fire tactics. This weapon has been around the duration of the Call of Duty franchise and it's hard to beat.
