Final Fantasy XIV Heaven-on-High Guide

FFXIV Heaven-on-High Guide: How to Start the New Deep Dungeon

With the release of Patch 4.35, you know what that means! It’s time for our FFXIV Heaven-on-High guide. This latest Deep Dungeon joins the ranks of Palace of the Dead as the next 100 floors for you and your friends to conquer. This dungeon, in particular, seems to be a more “hardcore” version of what you know.

Though there are some similarities between Palace of the Dead and FFXIV Heaven-on-High, there are some major differences as well. We are going to give you a rundown of what to expect and what’s new with this latest Deep Dungeon. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.

FFXIV Heaven-on-High Guide: How to Start

First and foremost, you will want to know how to start FFXIV Heaven-on-High. You can start it by heading to The Ruby Sea and speaking with Hamakaze at (X:6.2, Y:11.7). Before you can do that, though, you will want to know that there are some prerequisites to unlocking this Deep Dungeon.

The prerequisites for FFXIV Heaven-on-High are completing the main scenario quest “Tide Goes In, Imperials Go Out” and clearing floor 50 of Palace of the Dead. Those are simple enough to complete, but it does mean that you won’t be able to access HoH without first completing a chunk of Palace of the Dead.

FFXIV Heaven-on-High Guide: Differences

When you are ready to take on FFXIV Heaven-on-High, it’s worth noting that there are some differences. While a lot remains the same as having 100 floors to complete (at least for now), there are some major differences. One of the biggest ones is that this Deep Dungeon requires level 61 to 70 characters to take on.

Also, the first 30 floors are story-based as opposed to the first 100 like Palace of the Dead. You can complete the first 30 floors of FFXIV Heaven-on-High with a matched party but floors 31 and up require a fixed party. There are new Empyrean Aetherpool Gear for players to collect here.

There are also some additional features you’ll run into on your adventures in the 100 floors of FFXIV Heaven-on-High. In addition to Pomanders, you will also occasionally come across Magicite which allows you to summon primals for a brief period of time. There are also helpful NPC’s you can encounter. This Deep Dungeon is meant to be a challenging mode so good luck!
