A certain battle royale game doesn’t get to hoard all the updates today. There’s a PUBG Xbox One update fresh off the presses on July 31 and it even comes with a massive game-changing new update for those who like their analog movement more precise. In fact, the hotfix is all about making the game that much more stable, which can only be a good thing.
PUBG Xbox Update July 31: What’s Changed in the Hotfix?
The hotfix, which should be applied as soon as you jump on PUBG on Xbox today, focuses on three things: analog movement (which we’ll cover in more depth below), stablity, and performance. Basically, all three things are requests the community constantly bring up again and again and, with the PUBG Xbox Update, your wish has been granted.
PUBG Xbox Update July 31: Analog Movement Explained
Thanks to the more static nature of controllers versus a keyboard and mouse, PUBG on Xbox One previously only had eight directions. While that is still the case with the new update, there is far more fluidity between movement, and you’re able to cover angles greater than 45 degrees.
For an example, if you wanted to quickly turn left after moving forward, there would often be an awkward pause in between the two movements “joining,” as it were. Now, there is a smoother transition between movements, and it’ll definitely be far more noticeable for those who play in third-person.
PUBG Xbox Update July 31: Full Patch Notes
The full patch notes can be found on the PUBG site, and you can tell PUBG Corp is zeroing in on making the game as playable as it can possibly be. A few issues that resulted in game crashes have been eradicated, as have a couple of pesky bugs. Most importantly, aside from the analog movement bringing the game somewhat up to speed compared to its PC cousin, is that assets and detailed textures will load far quicker on Xbox One.
