Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 Update Patch Notes: What’s Changed in the Latest Destiny 2 Hotfix?

Bungie sure loves its hotfixes, huh? The Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 update has just gone live and, with it, we now have a really big issue that’s been resolved: the weekly reset challenge bug has been rectified, among a few other things. Scroll down below to see what’s changed in the latest Destiny 2 hotfix, plus a look at the full Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 update patch notes.

Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 Update Patch Notes: Main Changes

Much of the community were up in arms (ironically, without their ordnance) about Saturday, September 8’s early weekly reset which affected many Strikes and other activities. That’s now been fixed and all players have had their missing Challenges returned; open up any planet and you’ll see it’s if the whole thing never happened…

The Masterwork Cores exploit has also been removed, meaning players can no longer use the drifer ad infinitum. You’re gonna have to work for those now, ya scrubs.

This being a hotfix, there’s not much else to write home about. The final correspondence from Bungie mentions the reward for completing all Crucible weapon triumphs wasn’t popping. That’s now been rectified and you should find those on your profile screen upon pausing the game.

Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 Update: Why Hasn’t the Hotfix Downloaded?

As per the Bungie Support page, not every player will have the Destiny 2 hotfix go live immediately, especially if you’re still in a game or activity. You’re given a fairly sizeable grace period in which you can finish up anything you’re currently doing. That lasts until 9:45 a.m. Pacific/12:45 p.m. Eastern/5:45 p.m. BST. Once that’s up, though, you’ll be kicked instantly and send back to the title screen so the Destiny 2 2.0.2.1 update can install. You can’t need to quit the game and restart it from the console (or PC) client for anything to take effect; it’s all done for you in game.
