destiny 2 1.28 update

Destiny 2 2.05 Update Patch Notes (Destiny 2 1.28 Update PS4)

The Destiny 2 October 30 update may seem incremental thanks to its version number, but there’s so much to sift through. Below, we’ve got the best of the Destiny 2 2.05 update patch notes, which includes a duplicate Exotics fix, weapon buffs, Breakthrough changes, and more. So, for that, (and, yes, the Destiny 2 1.28 update on PS4 is the exact same deal) keep on scrollin’.

Destiny 2 2.05 Update Patch Notes (Destiny 2 1.28 PS4 Update) – Duplicate Exotics

This has been a bugbear for many members of the community but, now, it’s now (hopefully) a non-issue. Complaints had sprung up over players being given the same Exotics after various Strikes and activities. No longer should that be the case. In the Destiny 2 2.05 update patch notes page, Bungie confirms that “We now take into account all Exotics the player has found and weight them against Exotics they have yet to acquire. This lowers the player’s chances of receiving Exotics they already own.”

So, should you have Gun A, you’re far less likely to get Gun A again as an Exotic Drop in future, compared to Guns B, C, D, and so on. The RNG element has been usurped in favor of a system which allows players to get their hands on all manner of new Exotics at any given time.

Destiny 2 2.05 Update Patch Notes (Destiny 2 1.28 Update PS4) – Weapon Buffs

The good news keeps in rolling in, as the following weapons have received weapon buffs: Malfeascence, Wish-Ender, Trace Rifles, general Swords, and general Fusion Rifles. The latter two have had their damage output upped in PvE, while the Malfeascence has “Increased Explosive Shadow detonation damage” and does greater damage to Taken and invaders.

The Wish-Ender, meanwhile, now has a higher base damage, and its Broadhead and Queen’s Wrath perks have also been given a welcome boost.

Destiny 2 2.05 Update Patch Notes (Destiny 2 1.28 Update PS4) – Breakthrough Changes

Breakthrough has undergone some major shifts in how the Crucible mode plays (and, yes, Bungie has knocked it out of the park this week with the fan-favorite changes).

Double draws in rounds now means the match ends in a tie, so no more epic hour-long slogs for you. Plus, “the team with the most capture progress (high-water mark) will win the Breaker if time runs out without any Breaker progress present.” This has been done to avoid the abundance of stalemates that has plagued the mode since its release.

Destiny 2 2.05 Update Patch Notes (Destiny 2 1.28 Update PS4) – Glitch Fixes

Finally, a couple of weird glitches have been dealt with. Firstly, Vex Cyclopses (Cyclopi?), now attack the player, instead of – as in some cases – ignoring the user entirely. “The Corrupted” strike is now back to a four-man fireteam, instead of the glitches number of six. And, to top it all off, quitter penalties have been re-enabled. Yay!
