Red Dead Redemption 2 waypoint not working

Red Dead Redemption 2 Waypoint Not Working – How to Fix

It’s tough to get around in the West with your Red Dead Redemption 2 waypoint not working. But that’s the problem many users are suffering with. Whether your map goes missing, your waypoint is too small, or the GPS directions don’t work, there’s a whole lot of ground to cover, ironically. Here’s how to fix your Red Dead Redemption 2 waypoint.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Waypoint Not Working – How to Fix

There are a fair few issues and problems that can go wrong with your Red Dead Redemption 2 waypoint. They include:

  • Waypoint missing (see below)
  • Waypoint directions not working
  • Waypoint too small/large

To fix this, you’re going to want to double-check your Display settings. To find them, pause the game, head down to “Settings”, click that, and enter the “Display” menu.

Once there, scroll all the way down to the “Radar” section. This could be the main reason why your Waypoint directions are not working. To ensure you always get a route home, turn the “GPS Route” to “On.” If that still doesn’t fix the issue, change the Radar to “Expanded” as you’ll soon find that you’ll be able to see both the traditional red and yellow lines towards custom and map waypoints respectively, but also a smaller dotted line for when you’re off the beaten track and have no roads to follow.

To help fix the waypoint being too small or large, simply go back to Radar (or hold down on the d-pad during gameplay) and select “Regular” or “Expanded” depending on what suits you best.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Waypoint Missing – How to Fix

If your waypoint is missing entirely, there’s a good chance you’ve been fiddling around with the settings. To fix this, hold down on your d-pad and press X on PS4/A on Xbox One to bring your waypoint back up. Nice and simple.
