Insomniac Games invented Skill Points for its games but only officially started adding them from Spyro: Ripto’s Rage on. In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Toys for Bob has added Skill Points to the original Spyro the Dragon as well. They can be a bit hidden but here is a Spyro 1 Skill Point guide that details how to get each of the Skill Points. Keep in mind that there is no trophy for completing all of them but you will get to look at some concept art if you get all of the Spyro the Dragon Skill Points. This is also not the whole Spyro Reignited Trilogy Skill Point guide.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Artisans World
This Spyro 1 Skill Point guide will show the level, Skill Point name, a screen shot, and how to get it and will be separated by hub world.
Artisans: Reach tricky platform
This will likely be the first one you get. It will be in front of that tiny hill directly ahead of you near the two green bad guys in the hub world. Just stand on the hill and glide over. You may need to charge first.
Stone Hill: Burn the hidden pink tulip
Get on top of the green grass area where the egg thief is. Go on top of the connecting tunnel between the starting area and the final area and you’ll see a huge green bush above the doorway. Look towards the portal to the home world, which is in the picture between the dome pillar and other pillar. Near the green bush, you’ll see a tulip. Roast it.
Town Square: All bulls stuck
This one is easy. Just charge all of the bulls in the level. Do not flame them or you’ll have to start over. You’ll know you did it correctly when all of them are planted in the ground after you charged them.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Peacekeepers World
Peacekeepers: Scare 6 Gnorcs into tents
When you arrive in the Peacekeepers home world, kill the Gnorcs with black hats so they don’t attack you. After you kill the two shooting cannon balls at each other, you’ll see a group of Gnorcs with red hats. They’ll see you and freak out. Once spooked, they’ll run into the tents. Now just let them be and run to the other three goons just up ahead. Since there are seven here, you’re allowed to kill one before you get the skill point.
Doctor Shemp: Perfect
This one is relatively simple. Just defeat the boss without getting hit. He’s easy to avoid and just flame breath his butt when possible. There are a few stages and he shows his backside and different ways. If you get hit, just jump in a pit to start over and you’ll be fine.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Magic Crafters World
High Caves: Burn hidden painting
This one is a bit tricky. But just go through the level as you would normally. Once you jump past the guys swinging the platforms from side to side, you’ll enter a tiny room in a really small castle-like area. Once you’re in the doorway, look to your left behind you. You’ll see the painting. Burn this piece of fine art. You’ll need to jump on the platform beside it to reach it.
Blowhard: Ride a Druid platform for 10 seconds
You may even do this without realizing it. Just find one of those slender green Druids in the beginning of the level and stand on the platform without attacking him. Just look at the above picture for reference.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Beast Tamers World
Terrace Village: No electric floor damage
Those guys with the cattle prods will shock the floors every couple seconds. Just time it correctly and you’ll get through just fine. You can take damage from the other electric enemies, just not the electric floor. Start the level over if you take damage from the electric floor.
Metalhead: Perfect
Beating Metalhead without getting hit is trickier than you might think. Charge through the electric spires on the ground when they are green. Do not rush but do not take too long either because Metalhead will throw some attacks your way if you aren’t paying attention. Just always be moving or keeping an eye on Metalhead while you wait for them to turn green. If you get hit, just die to restart.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Dream Weavers World
Dream Weavers: Secret room
You’ll find this room behind the two metal goons guarding the doorway. They’ll need to be small in order to go past since you can’t kill them when they are big. Charge past them and make your way up the stairs and glide over to the two invincible jester guys with the timers. The secret room is behind a fake wall highlighted by the arch on that platform.
Haunted Towers: Burn blue wizard hat
While oddly worded, this just refers to a hidden blue wizard hat. You’ll need to use the whirlwind to ride up to a higher part of the castle. Instead of going inside and down the supercharge ramp, look outside and you’ll see another small stone-like building on the right that has one of the fire fairies in it. Glide over there and land on the top of it. Burn that hat. While not in the picture, it is where the circle is.
Lofty Castle: Destroy hidden stump
You’ll find this hidden stump after you go through the windy castle-like area after defeating two red cupid guys. Instead of gliding to the objective which is near the “Return Home” portal from the above picture, look to your right and glide to the green area. Then glide again above the save point fairy to the other green area with the tree. You’ll need to glide around the stone structure to get to the hidden stump, which you can see in the second picture (although I’ve already destroyed it, the arrow points to where it should be). Just charge through the stump when you get there.
Jacques: Perfect
This boss is quite easy if you rush through it. Avoid its initial attacks and then keep charging at it. If you do it quickly enough, it won’t have a chance to attack you. Just jump and flame it when it gets on its box-like platform. Again, if you do this fast enough after the first wave of attacks from the picture, it probably won’t get a chance to attack you. Jump in the lava if you get hit to start over.
Spyro the Dragon Skill Point Guide: Gnasty’s World
Gnasty Gnorc: Perfect
Avoid his lasers when chasing the egg thieves. Then chase Gnasty himself. Flame him when he stops. The second part is a little more difficult as you’ll probably need to avoid a laser when he stops for the second time. Do not rush this part because if you immediately jump, you are likely to get hit by his attacks and then you will have to start all over. Just take it slowly, avoid his laser, and then flame him after he shoots. You’ll have to restart the level if you take damage.
