It has been reported that Rockstar is currently hard at work on a Red Dead Redemption 2 HDR patch. Many players have reported issues with Red Dead Redemption 2’s HDR (high dynamic range) visuals, as the game’s textures are consistently being rendered poorly when set to high performance settings. Although this issue seems to be affecting PS4 Pro players, those who have been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One have experienced far less trouble in relation to this issue. Thankfully, Rockstar has announced that it intends to come up with a solution soon, even if a RDR 2 HDR patch release date isn’t forthcoming.
Red Dead Redemption 2 HDR Patch – When Is It Coming?
The Red Dead Redemption 2 HDR patch will hopefully rectify the problems that many players are currently facing. From a lack of sharpness to complete and utter blurriness, players are complaining that the game’s visuals simply aren’t living up to expectations.
RockstarINTEL has reported that Rockstar has officially acknowledged the issue, saying:
“We are currently hard at work fixing [the issues].”
Although this confirms that Rockstar is working on a solution, it doesn’t provide a release date for the patch. Hopefully it will come soon, as the issue has been almost game-breaking for some players, despite the fact that they are playing on a top-of-the-range console.
If you haven’t personally experienced these performance issues, you can see the blurriness for yourself in the video below:
So, although a Red Dead Redemption 2 HDR patch has been confirmed, there is no way to tell when it is scheduled to launch, However, it will likely be soon, as the sheer amount of players complaining about this necessitates intervention on Rockstar’s behalf. Until the Red Dead Redemption 2 HDR patch launches, it is recommended that PS4 Pro players play without enabling HDR settings. Ironically, the visuals will be much better this way for the time being.
