Unfortunately, there was no Smash Ultimate Waluigi announcement at The Game Awards last night. Instead, fans of Masahiro Sakurai’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate found out that Persona 5‘s Joker would be the next fighter to join the Smash Bros. Ultimate roster after the Piranha Plant DLC. Still. though, fans are calling for a Smash Bros. Ultimate Waluigi announcement. Although he is an assist trophy in Smash, fans think that Waluigi should be a fighter himself. Will Nintendo announce Waluigi as the next Smash Ultimate fighter? Smash Ultimate Waluigi DLC – Will Nintendo Release It?
So far, we know about two Smash Ultimate DLC fighters, but there still hasn’t been a Smash Ultimate Waluigi announcement, despite the fact that Masahiro Sakurai knows that fans want Waluigi to be added to the Smash Ultimate roster.
For those who buy the game and register their copy before January 31 2019, the Piranha Plant DLC will be completely free. The Joker Smash Ultimate DLC will cost $5.99 and will come with a stage and music set. If you bought the Fighters Pass for $24.99, though, you’ve already paid your money and will be able to download Joker for free when he is added to the game.
Luckily, there is still hope for a Smash Ultimate Waluigi announcement. With four more fighters to be announced over the coming months, it is still possible that Sakurai will add Waluigi to Smash Ultimate as a fighter instead of just an assist trophy. Until then, you’ll have to play as one of the other 76 characters currently in the game. You can check out a list of all 76 on our Smash Ultimate character list; there might not be a Smash Ultimate Waluigi fighter yet, but you’re bound to find someone else you’ll enjoy playing as out of the 76 that are there.
