The latest update for Red Dead Redemption 2 is now here, bringing with it a slew of fixes that may fix some troubling issues, hopefully with Red Dead Online in particular. The previous update, patch 1.03, added the Red Dead Online beta alongside a few miscellaneous improvements and fixes, so maybe the new Red Dead Redemption 2 update 1.04 will add a little bit more. Let’s see.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.04 Patch Notes
Unfortunately, as of right now there are no official patch notes for Red Dead Redemption 2 update 1.04, as Rockstar generally doesn’t send out detailed update comments. All we have is from the PS4 dashboard, and while it’s a little more detailed than the 1.03 comments, not much more so.
According to the PS4 Patch Notes, Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.04 adds fixes for “crashing issues, stuttering/lag issues, framerate drop and freezing issues” alongside improvements to performance, stability, and gameplay. It also sorts out some glitches, alongside “other minor fixes and changes.” In other words, patch 1.04 just generally improves the game and sorts out bugs.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.04 Rumored Changes
As you can tell above, the patch notes aren’t very exciting. Instead, players are putting together their own details, especially as the note “gameplay improvements” is quite far-reaching in its implications. One player suggested that a new feature on Red Dead Online was added, specifically the addition of Wanted levels for players who kill other players. While this would be a good feature to limit player griefing, other players are disputing it.
There may also be new gameplay modes added to Online, although these don’t appear to fully implemented yet. Additionally, the exploit to get infinite gold bars at the Sheriff’s Office seems to be fixed. However, according to one player one thing that doesn’t appear to be addressed is a fix for the HDR and PlayStation Pro issues some players have had. We’ll know more if Rockstar releases some official patch notes, but otherwise it’s just up to users to test things out.
