Metro Exodus, the third game in the critically-acclaimed shooter series, is out next month, and it’s looking like a fun mix of Far Cry 2 and Half-Life. It’s also gorgeous, one of the best-looking and highly-detailed games of this generation, and as such on PC you might need an equally impressive system to get the most of it. But what are the Metro Exodus system requirements for PC, and how badly will it hurt your PC to play this game? We’ve got the answers.
What are the Metro Exodus system requirements on PC?
Metro Exodus is running off the same engine as Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light, but those games were already incredibly good-looking titles, and now the engine has been heavily enhanced. The good news is that the minimum system requirements for Metro Exodus aren’t too lethal, which probably is to do with the fact that the game’s also available on consoles. However, while we currently don’t have the specs for a 4K 60FPS build needed to run the game, expect it to be quite high.

Is Metro Exodus only available on PC via Steam?
As of right now, on release Metro Exodus will only be available on PC via Steam, and will not be available on any other digital clients such as Epic Games Store or Origin. This may change in the future, however. For example, while both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light were also only on Steam to begin with, they were later made available on GOG.com. It’s entirely possible that will happen to Metro Exodus, but for now if you want the game at launch on PC, you’ll have to play it through Steam.
