Is it okay to drop keys in Resident Evil 2 remake?
Throughout your run through of Resident Evil 2 remake, you will come across a variety of Keys, Passes, and the like. Just as with any other item, you can discard of these if you think you don’t need them anymore. Be warned, though, that just as any other item you discard, you cannot pick up a Key again after you drop it. There is a way of knowing if a Key, Pass, or any other such item has outgrown its use, however.
If you have used a Key in every door, chest, and any other locked object it can be used in, a red checkmark will appear by it in the inventory screen. You can double-check if a Key has been used everywhere, too. On the map, it will show you if you have tried a locked door with the Spade Key, for example. You will only be able to discard a Key when you have used it fully and the game will let you know when that happens.
