Rage 2 is out very soon, on May 14, and it’s the first collaboration between id Software, the creators of Doom, Quake and the original Rage, as well as Avalanche Studios, the makers of Just Cause 4. On PC it’s coming out on both Bethesda’s own launcher and Steam, and with the game having recently gone gold, we also know the full list of Rage 2 PC system requirements. You can check out the minimum and recommend system specifications below.
What are the Rage 2 PC system requirements?
id Software’s games are known for being graphical powerhouses, so it’s not surprising they often require a meaty PC to match. However, Rage 2 doesn’t use the id Tech engine, as instead it’s based on Avalanche’s own Just Cause engine, last seen in last year’s Just Cause 4. As such, Rage 2‘s requirements are a little similar to Just Cause 4‘s, although they all still a little higher. Here’s what you’ll need to run Rage 2 on PC:
Minimum Requirements
- A 64-bit processor and operating system is required
- OS: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-Bit versions)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD R9 280 3GB
- Storage: 50 GB available space
- Note: Persistent Broadband Internet Connection required to play and access certain features.

What graphics options are available?
Bethesda has also revealed a number of graphics options that will be available to PC gamers with Rage 2. Some of these are fairly standard, such as the ability to turn motion blur on or off, but having an FOV slider is very welcome. Perhaps most surprising is the option to entirely turn the UI off, which hopefully will be available in the console versions too.
- FOV Slider (50 to 120 degrees)
- Show HUD (on/off)
- Reticle Style (default/simple/none)
- Motion Blur (on/off)
- Depth of Field (on/off)
- Ultra-wide (21:9) and Super Ultra-wide (32:9) display support (PC)
