Rage 2 May 16 Hotfix Update Patch Notes | Highlights
As stated above, although this may seem like a small update at first, it is actually a rather mighty one for PC owners. It removes that pesky Denuvo DRM, right off the bat. This hotfix should prove very useful for Rage 2 PC players across the board.
Rage 2 Denuvo DRM Removed
Ever since Rage 2 released on PC, players have taken to whatever platform they can find to raise their voices against the inclusion of Denuvo DRM. Bethesda and Avalanche Studios, however, have heard your voices. Denuvo DRM has now been completely removed from Rage 2 on PC. This is great new all around for everyone concerned.
Crash Fixes
As part of the May 16 hotfix update for Rage 2, several of the game’s crashing errors have been fixed. The occasional crash upon startup error should now be fixed. So too, should the occasional crash related to Scaleform. Nothing, however, appears to have been fixed regarding the crash to desktop while scrolling through in-game menus error.
Alongside the crash fixes, though, is a new Crash Reporter function. If Rage 2 crashes, you should now be able to report what happened thanks to the Crash Reporter.
Other Fixes
On top of the crash fixes and Denuvo DRM removal, a couple more fixes have been included in the hotfix. Razer Chroma effects, for example, are now turned on as default. Launching the game through Bethesda.net should now no longer default Rage 2 to English, either.
