Call of Duty Modern Warfare Zombies | Is it available to play?
If you were hoping for a Call of Duty Modern Warfare Zombies mode later this year, we have some bad news. There won’t be one for you to play. It might seem crazy for Infinity Ward not to include this popular game type in their next title, but there is a good reason behind their stance.
Speaking to our sister site PlayStation Lifestyle, campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff explained that the game wouldn’t feature a Zombies mode due to the realistic vibe that Infinity Ward wanted to go for this time around.
Minkoff added that Treyarch’s Black Ops series allowed for a Zombies mode as it was a more stylized, superhero-esque version of Call of Duty games. With Modern Warfare stripping the franchise back to its realistic roots, including Zombies in it wouldn’t have grounded the upcoming game in the real world.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Zombies | Co-op modes
If you’re fearing the worst that Call of Duty Modern Warfare Zombies’ stance means that there are no co-op modes in the game, you need not worry. Minkoff confirmed that there would be co-op available in their first-person shooter game, even if he declined to elaborate on it completely.
It definitely makes sense for Infinity Ward not to include Zombies in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. They’ve dabbled with it in the past, but it’s certainly a hallmark of Treyarch developed titles rather than their own. It likely won’t matter about this game type being absent when the game comes out anyway, and we’re sure it’ll be as popular as any other Call of Duty title.
