FIFA 19 1.16 Update Patch Notes | What it adds and changes

Even with a new entry right around the corner, FIFA 19 1.16 update patch notes are bringing some changes to the grossly popular soccer game. There isn’t much coming with Title Update 15, but it will surely change how the game feels in a couple of its Ultimate Team modes.

FIFA 19 1.16 Update Patch Notes | New changes

A few months back, the FIFA team updated the community on their efforts to improve gameplay responsiveness online. As such, those tweaks have now been implemented in both the FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) Champions and FUT Division Rivals modes to test whether these changes are beneficial.

What exactly are the changes being made to improve gameplay responsiveness? The first is, as stated in the blog post, “focused on reducing the time that it takes for the game to retry sending gameplay information to the network when the initial attempt to send the information was unsuccessful.” In other words, it is focused on reducing the delay of your inputs in-game while playing online.

The second is, again as stated in the post, “focused on reducing the amount of maximum buffer between when gameplay information is received by the game and when it is visually rendered on the screen.” Before the update, the maximum buffer was set slightly longer than in offline matches to adhere to the unpredictability of network conditions. For this update, the maximum buffer has been reduced to match that of the offline match’s max buffer.

The development team will begin evaluating whether these changes are positive or negative as the update is now available on all platforms. If the changes are negative, the team stated they have the ability to disable it without having to download another title update.

Additionally, changes have been made to the networking infrastructure for FUT Champions, FUT Division Rivals, FUT Online Draft, FIFA Pro Clubs, and FIFA Co-Op Seasons. Some of the changes include additional network and data center configuration which improve efficiency and capacity, as well as individual hardware changes meant to fix specific issues with server locations.
