Mario Kart Tour gliders _ All glider special skills

Mario Kart Tour gliders | All glider special skills

Just like drivers and karts, Mario Kart Tour’s gliders do away with traditional Mario Kart stats, adopting special skills and favored courses instead. If you haven’t already, check out our Mario Kart Tour favored courses guide for more information on that system. We’ll touch on those in this guide, but we’re mostly going to focus on the Mario Kart Tour glider special skills, which are what really sets these flying machines apart from each other. Let’s break down all Mario Kart Tour gliders and the bonuses they provide.

Mario Kart Tour | Glider bonuses and unlocks

Mario Kart Tour Items List

Unlike Mario Kart Tour’s characters, glider favored course bonuses grant a bonus to combo scoring when used on particular courses. The first tier of glider favored course bonuses (denoted in-game with three orange, upward-pointing arrows) increase combo points by three times and grant extra time for combo execution. The second tier (denoted with two orange arrows) grants a two-times bonus and a shorter time boost. These combo scoring increases can help you earn more points during races and challenges, leading to higher ranks and more Grand Stars.

Glider special skills, each called “(item name) Plus,” increase your chances of getting particular items from item boxes. The magnitude of that increased chance is determined by the glider’s rarity — Normal gliders simply “increase your chances” of finding an item, Super gliders “further increase” this, and High-End gliders “greatly increase” your chances.

Gliders can potentially be obtained from all the same sources as characters: They can be purchased from the Daily Selects shop with coins, purchased with real money in applicable “special offer” bundles, obtained via Tour Gifts, and obtained via Gold Pass Tour Gift bonuses. The main method of obtaining them, however, is the Pipe random reward system. You can head to our Mario Kart Tour drop chances guide for specific details about this system, but we’ll note each glider’s rarity here.
