How to carry more items in Death Stranding
As everything you own is physically carried by Sam, with a weight that impacts his movement and ability to carry on walking, it’s important to manage your loads efficiently, ensuring that you’re only bringing the necessary equipment with you, in addition to the packages that you’ve been tasked with delivering. To help you with this task, there are certain tools that will be unlocked as you progress.

As you make new connections and level them up, you’ll unlock new resources that allow you to increase Sam’s cargo weight limit, in addition to other items that can help carry packages for you. The Power Skeleton, for example, is able to dramatically increase Sam’s weight limit, allowing him to carry a ridiculous amount of weight on his back and limbs. This does, however, require batteries, so ensure that you keep them charged up with a Generator!
Another option is the Floating Carrier, which Sam pulls behind him. This can be loaded with packages and is capable of traversing challenging terrain. Rest assured that Sam’s ability to carry packages only improves as his journey goes on. The toughest moments are at the start, where he is but a noob! Persevere and you’ll come out on the other side a stronger and more successful delivery man!
