The original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare featured one of gaming’s most iconic campaign missions in “All Ghillied Up.” When coupled with the ability to equip ghillie suits in multiplayer, the novel form of full-body camouflage quickly became a firm fan favorite. Many will be pleased to know that there’s a returning Modern Warfare ghillie suit in Activision and Infinity Ward’s 2019 reboot, however, they might be less impressed to learn of how it’s acquired.
How to unlock the Ghillie Suit in Modern Warfare
In order to access the “All Ghillied Up Pack” and utilize the classic ghillie suit in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), players need to have purchased either of the title’s premium bundles. Both the Operator Edition and Operator Enhanced Edition of the game feature the ghillie suit as a bonus, so you’ll need to fork over some extra cash if you want to blend into your surroundings the most effectively.

If you opted for the Standard Edition it’s currently not possible to purchase a version upgrade, which has led to some community members accusing Modern Warfare of being “pay to win” on Reddit. It’s said that players wearing the premium ghillie suit have an unfair advantage through being “very hard to see” when prone or crouched on maps with lots of vegetation like Hill.
In many previous Call of Duty games, ghillie suits have been unlockable in the multiplayer suite through gameplay alone. The change to a paid acquisition this time around hasn’t been welcomed, although, on the flip side, many of those that shelled out on the Modern Warfare Operator and Operator Enhanced Editions are pleased to see their investments were worthwhile.
For now, if you didn’t purchase one of the premium versions of the game, you’re unfortunately out of luck where getting your hands on the Modern Warfare ghillie suit is concerned. Formerly, however, there was something called the “Operator Enhanced Upgrade” listed on the PlayStation Store, meaning it’s possible that this delisted item could return in the future and solve this annoying problem.
