One of the best things about Pokemon Sword and Shield is the ability to play online with other people. Up to four players can try to take on a Max Raid, joining the forces of their Pokemon to battle against a huge Dynamax beast. Players can also trade and swap League Cards. Unfortunately, the Pokemon Sword and Shield 2-ALZBA-0031 error code can stop players in their tracks, offering the frustrating message of “You can’t participate because the entry session for participation has been closed.” Happily, there is a fix available. Here’s what you need to do to find a working session.
How to fix Pokemon Sword and Shield 2-ALZBA-0031 error code
The Pokemon Sword and Shield 2-ALZBA-0031 error code might seem intimidating, but it’s actually just telling you that the session you attempted to connect to, is no longer active or available. “The entry session for participation has been closed” is just a long way of saying that the host player has canceled the Raid, or that the four player slots have already been filled.

In order to fix the 2-ALZBA-0031 error code, you’ll simply want to push “OK.” Then find another event in the Y-COMM.
It’s also worth noting that you may need to push “X” in order to load more stamps. This function will refresh your feed and show you more recent events. This is helpful as these events are likely still looking for more players.
Unfortunately, simply trying and trying again is the only way to get past this error code. Persevere and you will eventually find an event that you can join or battle in.
