Resident Evil 2 remake has a new achievement/trophy almost a year after its release. The Chasing Jill description calls on you to “Read a letter left behind by Jill.” This new RE2 achievement is a tie-in to the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake, and gives you a reason to replay the game in anticipation of RE3 remake’s upcoming release.
Unfortunately, the achievement is just tied to a new file, so don’t get too excited. You get the Chasing Jill achievement/trophy in Resident Evil 2 remake by finding the “Letter to the Shopkeeper,” which you can find the location of below.

How to get the Chasing Jill achievement in Resident Evil 2 remake
Update: You can find a letter left behind by Jill by visiting Kendo’s Gunshop. You’ll find the letter on the west side of the shop sitting on a cabinet (see the map above for an exact location). As of right now, the file seems to be exclusive to Leon’s game (1st or 2nd run), as he’s the only one who visits this location. It’s possible it’s been placed elsewhere in Claire’s game, but I haven’t found it yet.
The letter reads:
Kendo,
It seems like you’ve got your reasons for staying put, so I’ll trust you to take care of yourself.
Still, if things get worse and your “other arrangements” don’t work out, you know where to find me. I’ll do everything I can.
Jill Valentine
Upon reading the letter, you’ll get the Chasing Jill achievement or trophy.
Original Post: So far, I haven’t found a way to unlock this achievement yet. More than likely we’ll see an update to Resident Evil 2 in the next few days that will add the new content required to complete the Chasing Jill achievement. As of writing, the achievement hasn’t been completed by a single player, so we can assume the content isn’t already in the game and just cleverly hidden.
As for what this achievement entails is anyone’s guess. The description, “Read a letter left behind by Jill,” could be entirely literal, as in, there’s only a new file to find in the game. Fans (and myself) are hoping for something a bit more substantial, though. The Brad Vickers zombie was conspicuously missing from Resident Evil 2 remake, so perhaps this achievement will add this iconic easter egg to the game.
Alternatively, we may see another Ghost Survivors scenario added. That would be a great way to give players who bought RE2 remake a sneak peek at Resident Evil 3. However, we won’t know for sure what it is until the update releases.
