Typhoon Studios’ Journey to the Savage Planet is bursting with the kind of vibrant humor and visuals that make it instantly accessible, despite the game actually developing to offer some complex mechanics. It’s easy to argue that this makes it a perfect fit for Nintendo’s hybrid handheld, and yet, this quirky title isn’t currently listed for release on the popular platform. Might there be a Journey to the Savage Planet Nintendo Switch version at some point in the future, though? Early evidence certainly seems to suggest so…
Is Journey to the Savage Planet coming to Nintendo Switch?
With launch right around the corner (January 28), Journey to the Savage Planet definitely isn’t going to be available on Switch from day one. It’s scheduled to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One, unfortunately leaving Nintendo Switch out in the cold for the time being. If you’re looking to enjoy the game on the go and don’t mind enduring a wait, however, it might be worth holding out to see how things develop.

Although this isn’t an official confirmation, last year Nintendo Everything reported that Journey to the Savage Planet had been rated for Switch in Brazil and by the ESRB for Europe. Securing a rating is a necessary step for publishers that want to see their game launch — be it physically, digitally, or both — on any platform in any region. As such, this could well point towards a potential Journey to the Savage Planet Switch version hitting the market at some point in the future.
Since there’s been no form of official confirmation that a Switch port is on the way, there’s still a chance that it might not happen. Still, if you’re determined to play the game on a Nintendo platform we’d definitely recommend waiting for now. Do be aware that the wait could be a long one, though, as there’s obviously no known Journey to the Savage Planet Nintendo Switch release date to speak of.
