Whether you’re playing on iOS or Android, if you’ve completed the most recent Team GO Rocket Special Research you’ll now have access to February’s set of tasks titled A Professor’s Work Is Never Done. February’s Team GO Rocket Special Research, A Professor’s Work Is Never Done, plays host to a familiar set of tasks. In order to complete the latest Pokemon Go Special Research project, you’ll need to defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts, its Leaders — Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra — and Team GO Rocket boss Giovanni for a chance to rescue Legendary Pokemon Shadow Raikou. Don’t delay in doing so, however, as Shadow Raikou will leave once the short month of February ends.

Here’s exactly what you need to do in order to complete the February Team GO Rocket Special Research:
Pokemon Go ‘A Professor’s Work Is Never Done’ guide
- Ensure that you’re at least a Level 8 Pokemon Trainer
- Seek out Team GO Rocket Grunts and defeat them to collect “Mysterious Components”
- Collect 6 Mysterious Components and combine them to craft a “Rocket Radar”
- If you’ve previously crafted a Rocket Radar, you’ll be able to purchase one from the in-game Shop using PokeCoins
- Equip the Rocket Radar from your Bag
- Tap the Rocket Radar button below the compass on the Map View to locate “Leader Hideouts”
- Leader Hideouts look like normal PokeStops until you get close enough to see a Team GO Rocket Leader standing beside them
- Tap the leader to launch a Pokemon battle, but be aware that they’re challenging opponents
- Upon defeating a Leader, the Rocket Radar is consumed and you’re left with a couple of options:
- Gather six Mysterious Components by defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts to craft another Rocket Radar
- Purchase a Rocket Radar from the in-game Shop using PokeCoins
- After repeating the process to defeat all of the necessary Team GO Rocket Leaders, you should be awarded a “Super Rocket Radar”
- Equip the Super Rocket Radar from your Bag
- Work your way through Team GO Rocket Hideouts, many of which are decoys, until you find the true location of Giovanni
- Battle and defeat Giovanni to encounter Shadow Raikou
