Stopping Power is a Field Upgrade in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that allows weapons to deal extra damage. More specifically, Stopping Power rounds deal twice as much damage as normal ammunition, making this Field Upgrade perfect for just about any type of weapon found in the game.

Of course, there is one small drawback to using the Stopping Power Field Upgrade, and that is the slow recharge rate. However, Stopping Power applies its damage multiplier to every round in a magazine. If used correctly, players can use Stopping Power rounds in every magazine so long as they don’t empty their weapon’s clip before the Field Upgrade has been recharged.
Since Stopping Power deals so much more damage than normal rounds, it draws a lot of ire from players.
