A frustrating new problem has crept its way into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Players have begun encountering error code 8192, reporting that the game is unable to fetch their online profile. Since the profile can’t be found, no game can be started. What does Modern Warfare error code 8192 mean, and what can you to do to fix it? Read on to find out.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare | Error Code 8192
Error code 8192 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a problem of network connectivity. In many cases, the game will issue a warning saying it can’t fetch your online profile. Like with the more common error code 4, code 8192 typically appears after a new update to the game has been released.

Despite what it may seem, the game being unable to fetch your profile doesn’t mean that your profile has disappeared. Instead, error code 8192 appears to be a problem of authentication, where the game client can’t accurately communicate with servers.
Fortunately, code 8192 is not a very common error. In most instances, it appears when a new game update has been issued. Sometimes it shows up as the patch is being doled out; other times it’s shortly thereafter. In most cases, it’s a bug that the developers need to work out. In fact, it appeared following the June 11 update, prompting the team at Activision Support to address the situation on Twitter:
We're actively investigating an issue where some players are experiencing an error 8192 connecting to #ModernWarfare. Stay tuned for updates.

For now, there’s nothing you can do but wait. The game will be able to reconnect and fetch your online profile as soon as the bug causing the error has been removed. Until a fix for Modern Warfare code 8192 has been issued, you’ll probably want to find something else to do for a little while. With any luck, the error won’t have any effect on Warzone, so you can hopefully continue playing Call of Duty without issue.
