Crown Tundra weather dates - Pokemon Sword & Shield

It’s an open secret that you can change the date in order to change the weather in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The same is true for Crown Tundra, although the given dates are different than they are in the base game. Here are the weather dates you can use to change conditions in Crown Tundra:

  • Clear: 04-31-2020
  • Cloudy: 03-31-2020
  • Fog: 07-31-2020
  • Snow: 06-31-2020
  • Snowstorm: 01-31-2020
  • Sunny: 05-31-2020

You may notice that certain weather conditions aren’t listed. Rain, Thunderstorm, and Sandstorm aren’t available at all in Crown Tundra, so there are no weather dates to set for them. That’s because the new region is a snow-capped area that isn’t prone to those sorts of conditions.

How to change the date on your Nintendo Switch

It’s worth remembering that you can’t change the date within Pokemon Sword and Shield. For these weather dates to work, you’ll need to change the date for your entire Nintendo Switch system. Fortunately, this is simple to do:

  1. Open the System Settings
  2. Select System, then Date and Time
  3. Disable the internet-based time setting
  4. Change the date and press OK to confirm

After this, the next time you launch Pokemon Sword or Shield, you’ll notice that the weather has changed. You can use this function to your advantage, since certain Pokemon will only appear under specific conditions. In a nutshell, the weather dates are a quick way to capture new creatures and help fill out your Pokedex.
