General Tips

Persona Q introduces a tweak to the usual battle system with boosts. You don't get extra turns for hitting weaknesses, but the character's next attack is "boosted" - it no longer requires HP or SP. Use this to your advantage.
If you're worried about drawing maps in Persona Q, just use the game's auto-map feature and enjoy the characters/dungeon crawling.
There are a ton of characters in Persona Q, from both Persona 3 and Persona 4. Try them all out and figure out which characters you're most comfortable with in battle.
Finish a fight with an all-out attack to receive extra experience.
Always have a Goho-M in your inventory so you can easily escape a dungeon.
Just like the Etrian Odyssey series, Persona Q includes FOEs. These are really tough bosses that truly test the player. Feel free to run away if you're not prepared to take on a particular FOE. There's always next time.
Remember to register your personas, especially before fusions.
Make sure you stock up on better equipment for each new dungeon. Money isn't particularly hard to come by.
Status ailments are your friend... when you apply them to the enemy. Don't focus entirely on regular magic attacks. Use spells that confuse, poison, etc.
