Is there DLC for Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Release Dates | Will there be paid and free DLC?

Even though the game is still quite new, people are still wondering about Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. After all, CD Projekt Red is not only known for its campaigns, but for its expansions as well. Here’s whether Cyberpunk 2077 will get DLC or not as well as their possible release dates.

Will there be Cyberpunk 2077 DLC?

Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 will have DLC. And while CDPR has not gone much into detail about exactly what that DLC will entail, the team has given some vague explanations. The futuristic RPG will have a DLC plan similar to The Witcher 3, which means it will get some smaller pieces of DLC and then some big expansions.

There is no word on what these smaller pieces of content will be, but The Witcher 3‘s miniature DLC drops included cosmetic items like skins, new finisher animations, and beard customization options to gameplay-centric additions like quests, a crossbow, and New Game Plus. Cyberpunk will likely get a suite of similar sorts of additions for free, as the studio confirmed the game would also be getting DLC for no money at all. There is currently some Witcher 3 crossover DLC, but that is just a bit different as it is more of a promotion.

The paid DLC sounds like it will also follow in The Witcher 3‘s footsteps as CDPR stated that players should expect “no less than Witcher 3” in terms of expansions, according to IGN. However, CDPR won’t be speaking about the DLC plans until after launch, which was the opposite from the original plan.

Multiplayer can’t be classified as strictly DLC as it has a separate team and is a standalone product, according to AltChar. It also won’t be coming until at least 2022.

When are the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC release dates?

The Cyberpunk 2077 DLC release dates are yet to be confirmed. But given how much The Witcher 3‘s DLC roadmap is carrying over, it might not be hard to use that as a rough guideline. The Witcher 3 started getting free DLC the day it was released. The free DLC continued weekly for four months, too. But given how there has been no word on any Cyberpunk 2077 free DLC, it is likely that it’s coming a bit later this time.

The Witcher 3‘s first paid expansion, Hearts of Stone, released five months after the main game and the next expansion, Blood and Wine, came out seven months later. Given these time tables, it’s possible that Cyberpunk 2077 gets its first big premium expansion at or around the second half of 2021. But don’t be surprised if it takes a little longer this time as CDPR also has its hands full with making PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S ports (but probably no Switch) of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 in the middle of an ongoing pandemic. It also has to start fixing Cyberpunk as well.
