How to center in Rocket League
Centering in Rocket League is purposely sending the ball to the center of your opponent’s goal with the intention of making it easier for your teammates to score. This often means sending the ball (or puck for Snow Day matches) from the side to the center of the goal for any easy shot. Centering doesn’t necessarily mean you trying to score, but you’re trying to set someone else up to score. It’s like a purposeful assist. These are good to do if the enemy team has an aggressive or talented goalie or if you have a less than ideal angle on the goal.
Using the wall is an excellent way to get a center. Drive up the wall on the side and try to bonk the ball or puck to the center. It’s possible to do this on the ground, too. The game can sometimes be a little stingy with what it considers a center, but usually sending the ball or puck to the center from the sides of the goal will count as a center. Most goals have a outline a bit around them like a three-point line in basketball and sending the ball in there from the sides is usually a good indicator a center.
