Monster Hunter Rise Monster List: How many monsters are there?

There’s a large list of monsters in Monster Hunter Rise for players to fight and conquer. Many of these beasts are returning from previous games, but there’s a chunk of new ones as well. We’ll go into detail about how many monsters are in Monster Hunter Rise, including a list of which are old and which are being introduced for the first time.

Monster Hunter Rise Monster List

Monster Hunter Rise Monster List 1

There are 61 monsters in Monster Hunter Rise at launch. That’s significantly less than the 129 found in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and the 94 available in Monster Hunter World (including the Iceborne expansion). However, there are plenty of fan favorites included in Rise, and some of the new ones are excellent.

Of the 64 monsters in Rise, 47 are from previous games, and 11 are brand new.

Will more monsters be added to Monster Hunter Rise?

Monster Hunter Rise Monster List 2

It’s almost a given that Monster Hunter Rise will get more creatures to hunt in future updates. Capcom provided free patches featuring events and monsters for the previous game in the series and is likely to do the same here.

Though there are fewer monsters in Rise than in previous entries, there’s still a lot of content here to complete. There are 44 large monsters to hunt, which will take up quite a bit of time. The fights in this game are not less complex than those found in Monster Hunter World, so it’ll take hunters awhile to exhaust all Rise has to offer.
