Yes, Rick and Morty’s Justin Roiland is in Invincible episode 6 as Doug Cheston. Roiland is known for not showcasing his range as a voice actor, with Doug possessing roughly the same voice as the animated comedy series’ Rick.
Doug Cheston is introduced as the entitled son of a morally bankrupt pharmaceutical boss, who initially accosts three women before being kidnapped by D.A. Sinclair (played by Ezra Miller) and transformed into a human and robot hybrid. It seems Roiland’s voice-acting role in Invincible will be limited, as Cheston promptly has his vocal cords removed.
D.A. Sinclair is an obnoxious genius with a preoccupation over humanity’s “failures” in engineering, including them needing to use vehicles in order to travel. Throughout episode 6, Sinclair is eyeing up new candidates to be forced into his evil experiments, which leads to Cheston undergoing an unwanted transformed.
Roiland’s performance is familiar, with Cheston even sporting Rick’s famous drunken burp. Amazon Prime Video’s X-Ray feature notes that Roiland “does all his own burps,” which is perhaps an unsurprising piece trivia for Rick and Morty fans. Roiland appearing in Invincible was revealed in a trailer posted for the show back in February, but this is the first episode that the voice actor has appeared in.
