Where to find sardines in Nier Replicant version 1.22

Sardines can be found at just a few locations in Nier Replicant. If you’re fishing for them, sardines are located in the waters around the town of Seafront. Alternatively, you can buy sardines as bait from the Fish Shop.

If you’re here, chances are good you’re looking for the best places to fish for sardines. Thankfully, you probably won’t have to fast travel anywhere to find them. Sardines can be caught in any of the waters around Seafront, including the western beachfront as well as the southern shoreline.

There’s just one catch: Sardines can only be caught while using Lugworms as bait. No other sort of bait will do.

Beyond that, the rest is easy. Approach the water, then choose the option to fish. Select Lugworms as your bait, then wait until you feel a fish bite. To get the timing right, wait until the bobber disappears underwater, then reel the line back and away from the fish’s direction of travel. Once the stamina meter is depleted, you’ll have successfully caught your first sardine.

You’ll need a total of 10 sardines to complete the first part of The Fisherman’s Gambit quest. In rewards for your effort, the quest giver will improve your fishing skill. After that, you’ll be tasked with reeling in other fish, including blowfish, rainbow trout, sandfish, and blue marlin.

You won’t have to go far to find sardines in Nier Replicant. Sardines can be caught at any waterfront location in the town of Seafront. Just be sure to use Lugworms as bait, and you’ll start reeling them in easy peasy.
