Deep Silver has revealed that the update of Saints Row 3 will be coming to current-gen consoles next week, and the new Saints Row The Third Remastered PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will come packed with a whole range of improvements. This upgrade will be free to all current owners of Saints Row 3 Remastered on PS4 and Xbox One, and even save games can be transferred across. Furthermore, there’s GOG and Steam versions incoming too for PC owners who don’t want to play the Epic Games Store version already available. Here are all the improvements.
All Saints Row The Third Remastered PS5 and Xbox Series X differences
There’s a range of marked improvements in the Saints Row The Third PS5 and Xbox Series X version, including:
- Increased performance settings over the PS4/Xbox One versions, which are equivalent to the PC edition at High settings.
- A framerate boost to 60 FPS for PS5/Xbox Series X version, and Xbox Series S owners can choose between Performance (60 FPS) and Beauty (30 FPS) modes.
- Takes advantage of the SSD hard drives in the new consoles to offer much-improved loading times.
- ‘Saints Purple’ can be the glow color on the DualSense controller. This isn’t really an improvement but it’s fun nonetheless.
The new current-gen version of Saints Row The Third Remastered also allows for co-op play with the previous generation. Additionally, anyone upgrading to the PS5/Xbox Series X version — which is free, remember, so there’s no reason not to — can transfer their saves over from the PS4/Xbox One versions using the PS5 and Xbox Series X synchronization feature.
With this release and Saints Row IV coming out on Nintendo Switch, all that’s left is Saints Row 5’s eventual release, which we’re hoping will go back to the series’ roots.
