The Suicide Squad post credits scene

Is there a The Suicide Squad post-credits or end credits scene?

So is there a The Suicide Squad post-credits scene? It’s common in Marvel movies such as Black Widow to have scenes after the end credits, but it’s a less regular practice in DC Comics movies. There’s a cool final scene in the original Suicide Squad featuring Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne that sets up Justice League, but is there a Suicide Squad 2 end credits scene — perhaps one that sets up Peacemaker or The Flash? Here’s The Suicide Squad post-credits scene explained — spoilers follow!

The Suicide Squad post-credits scene explained

The post-credits scene following The Suicide Squad’s end credits explicitly sets up the Peacemaker HBO Max TV show coming next year, which continues the adventures of Christopher Smith, a.k.a. Peacemaker (John Cena). This is particularly notable because it was previously suggested that the Peacemaker show would be an origin story or a prequel, but it seems it will also be a sequel that continues after the events of The Suicide Squad.

The Suicide Squad’s post-credits scene takes place in the hospital, presumably the infirmary of Belle Reve, where John Economos (Steve Agee) and Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) meet after having staged a minor rebellion against Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) during the battle between Task Force X and Starro the Conqueror. They believe Waller is punishing them for that by assigning them to a surprise patient — none other than Peacemaker, who somehow survived being shot and the rampage by Starro. Their mission, Harcourt explains to Economos, is “just to save the f***ing world, that’s all.” It certainly suggests that the stakes will be high in the Peacemaker show, perhaps higher than anyone expected.

The Suicide Squad launches on August 5 in the US and on HBO Max, and is out now in the UK. It’s currently the highest-scoring DC movie on Rotten Tomatoes, and head here to find out everyone who dies in The Suicide Squad. Spoiler: it’s a lot.
