The Suicide Squad Rotten Tomatoes

The current The Suicide Squad rating on Rotten Tomatoes with 47 reviews is a perfect 100%, with no “rotten” reviews and the majority praising the likes of the characters, soundtrack, action, and humor. While there are more reviews to come, not to mention the audience reaction as the movie hasn’t opened in any theaters or debuted on HBO Max just yet, it’s currently the highest-rated DC Comics movie on Rotten Tomatoes. 2008’s The Dark Knight holds the current record of 94% in both critic and audience reactions, and 2017’s Wonder Woman stands at 93% critics rating and 83% audience rating.

Jenna Anderson at ComicBook.com says The Suicide Squad “raises the bar for just how much a superhero movie can accomplish in one sitting,” and Clarisse Loughrey rates the movie “alongside the very best of modern comic-book filmmaking.” Jake Coyle of Associated Press calls it “a kind of genuinely tender freak show” and Justin Chang of Los Angeles Times happily says they are “delighted to be proven wrong” about the idea of a second Suicide Squad movie after the disappointing first.

The Suicide Squad officially opens today in France, with the UK opening this Friday, July 30. The movie launches in theaters and on HBO Max in the US next week, on August 5. In other Rotten Tomatoes surprises, Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead is the oft-maligned director’s most acclaimed movie there, beating even his own Zack Snyder’s Justice League from this year. Also on The Suicide Squad, promo art has given fans their best look at villain Starro the Conqueror, and the spin-off show based around John Cena’s Peacemaker is ready to go for next year.
