Does Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 come with S Pen?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the company’s latest foldable phone, and it’s certainly looking sharp. As intended, this mobile device offers huge screen real estate in a relatively slim package. Since it’s a phone that turns into a tablet, you may be thinking of all the ways you can use an S Pen for productivity or entertainment. But does the Galaxy Z Fold 3 include an S pen, or must one be purchased separately?

Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 include an S Pen?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 does not include an S Pen. Despite being compatible with the company’s smart stylus, no S Pen is included with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. If you want to use one, you’ll have to buy it separately.

Frankly, it’s a little strange to see it not included. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is effectively a high-end “phablet”, unfolding to become a 7.6″ tablet. That extra screen space makes it possible to write or draw more comfortably than on a standard-sized phone. It’s also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, giving it comparable performance to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 — a tablet that includes the S Pen with purchase.

Of course, it’s not fair to assume that all Fold 3 owners will want to use a stylus. There’s a big difference between the kind of user who needs a big tablet with a smart stylus, and the type who wants a tablet that fits into their pocket. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is simply meant for more casual use. Still, there’s nothing stopping you from using the S Pen if you so choose — though the same can’t be said for the Flip 3.

If you want to use an S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, you’ll have to buy one separately. Samsung’s latest folding phablet does not include the S Pen in the box. However, the device is fully compatible with the smart stylus. If you’ve got an extra sitting around, you’ll be able to use it with Samsung’s latest foldable.
