Is a Pokemon TCG Live Switch version available? The new Pokemon Trading Card Game Live app has just been revealed by The Pokemon Company, which will allow Pokemon TCG fans to play the game with friends from across the world — all in the safety of their own home. However, with so many Pokemon fans on Switch and the property basically being Nintendo’s, is Pokemon TCG Live on Switch at all? Let’s see.
Is there a Pokemon TCG Live Switch app?
At the present time, Pokemon Trading Card Game Live is only planned for release on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, and there is nothing planned regarding a Nintendo Switch release of the app.
At the moment there is no release date at all down for Pokemon TCG Live, other than the Trading Card Game website suggesting that the app will be “available soon.” If the demand is there from Pokemon fans, it seems possible that a Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon TCG Live might be considered closer to release, but if it does it’ll probably appear a lot later than the initial app for PC and mobile devices.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game Live app is basically a way to take the popular Pokemon TCG to mobile devices in the same way as the wildly popular Pokemon Go, especially in these times where meeting directly is still discouraged — something Pokemon Go and developer Niantic got in trouble over recently for trying to push the game back to pre-pandemic changes, with boycotts over the game by players for removing several of the more useful changes.
For Switch Pokemon fans there is still a lot of Pokemon content coming soon, even if the TCG Live doesn’t. Pokemon Sword and Shield owners can still get free DLC based on the next animated movie, for example, and the epic Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches early next year.
