The MP-40 might be a practically ancient firearm, but it’s still one of the best guns in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Light, portable, and with a rapid rate of fire, this SMG is fairly weak but otherwise well-suited to close-range engagements. Fortunately, we’ve got ideas on the best loadout, attachments, and perks to use to get the most out of submachine gun.
What’s the best MP-40 loadout in Call of Duty: Vanguard?
Submachine guns in Call of Duty: Vanguard are fast-firing but not particularly powerful. Speed is certainly a good thing, but the MP-40’s rate of fire is hampered by its weak damage output. As such, the best MP-40 builds focus on increasing firepower and accuracy without sacrificing too much speed.
Our choice for best MP-40 loadout uses the following attachments:
- Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
- Barrel: Krausnick 317mm 04B
- Optic: (none)
- Stock: VDD 34M
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Magazine: 8mm Kurz 32 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
- Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
All of these attachments aim to make the best of the MP-40’s stats. The stabilizer and 317mm barrel help with accuracy and control at a small loss to sprint-to-fire speed. Likewise, the angled underbarrel helps with recoil and accuracy to offset full-auto fire problems introduced from the 32-round magazines. Finally, we opt to keep the standard iron sights and slot in FMJ rounds for extra penetration.
Best MP-40 Perks
We use the following perks in our MP-40 loadout:
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Radar
- Perk 3: Overkill
Since mobility is the name of the game here, Ghost is an obvious choice. You’ll need to stay quiet in order to get close enough to enemies for the MP-40 to be effective. Beyond that, things are pretty open. We use Radar as our second perk just to make sure we’re that much more aware of our surroundings. Finally, Overkill is a simple recommendation since the MP-40 is unfortunately ill-suited to long-range encounters.
