PUBG: New State is the brand new Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds mobile game for iPhone (iOS) and Android. Unfortunately, the smartphone game only features Solo and Squad team modes at launch. That has a lot of players wondering if there’s a PUBG: New State Duos and Trios release date coming up. So, here’s the latest on new game modes coming to Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds: New State for Android and Apple iOS devices.
Is there a PUBG: New State Duos mode release date?
Duos mode could come to PUBG: New State on iPhone (iOS) and Android via a free game update in 2022 or later.
Other versions of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds feature the Duos match type, allowing users to group up and play as teams of two. Since this is a popular matchmaking pool (plus there’s demand for it), it’s possible that the developer will add it in later. While there are no guarantees at this stage, since the developer hasn’t said anything official, adding Duos permanently or as a recurring limited-time mode seems like a no-brainer.
Does PUBG: New State have a Trios mode?
Here’s how to play Trios in PUBG: New State on iOS and Android:
- Gather a party of three players.
- Select the Squad team mode.
- Disable the Auto Match setting.
- Matchmake to play as a squad of three.
A dedicated PUBG: New State Trios team mode could arrive in a future game update, patch, or hotfix. The PC, Xbox, and PlayStation versions of PUBG still don’t feature a dedicated Trios team mode; if that sets any kind of precedent, the chances seem quite low in this instance. Despite that, enterprising players can still matchmake in groups of three by following the above steps.
