Cities: Skylines 2 Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Is there a Cities: Skylines 2 release date? It’s been seven years since the highly successful release of Cities: Skylines on PC in 2015, which then got console releases on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch between two and three years later. Surely a sequel and the next game in the Cities In Motion series is in production? When can fans expect a Cities: Skylines 2 PC and console release date to be?

What is the Cities: Skylines 2 release date on PC?

cities skylines 2 release date

Cities: Skylines 2 could release in late 2022, although it hasn’t been officially announced just yet. The next Cities game appeared in the infamous Nvidia GeForce Now leak from last year with a release date of February 15, 2022, although every release date in that list seems out of date. However, it does seem Cities: Skylines 2 is in active development, so it is very possible the sequel could get announced in the next few months and released later this year. There is a new DLC expansion out this month, Cities: Skylines — Airports, so it won’t be for a few months yet.

What is the Cities: Skylines 2 PS5, PS4, and Xbox release date?

Cities: Skylines 2 will either release alongside the PC version in 2022, if that happens, or it won’t come out until around 2023-2024. It took two years for Cities: Skylines to reach PlayStation and Xbox platforms as Paradox Interactive tends to focus on the PC first. However, it is changing this stance in recent years — Surviving Mars, for example, launched on consoles alongside PC. It depends on how much Paradox values console platforms for a Cities game.

Will there be a Cities: Skylines 2 Switch release?

It is still possible that Cities: Skylines 2 will release on the Nintendo Switch, despite the system’s age, as Paradox games are generally not too system-challenging. If so, Cities: Skylines 2 will launch slightly after the other console versions.
