Cities: Skylines Remastered is an upcoming upgrade for the city-building game. It arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this month, but not for older consoles and PC. PC has been the traditional home for Paradox Interactive’s strategy games, so can owners of Cities: Skylines on PC expect a Remastered release date?
Is Cities: Skylines Remastered coming to PC?
There is no Cities: Skylines Remastered release date for PC right now. As gaming PCs can boast hardware with more power than the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, many PC gamers will be confused about why they won’t receive this major update for the city builder.
Cities: Skylines Remastered increases the city size limit from 9 tiles to 25 and adds a quick selection tool, map editor, UX improvements, environmental controls, and performance improvements. The PC version already offers some of these features (albeit through mods), so this may be why the update isn’t coming to the PC version. However, enabling mods disables achievements, so PC owners would be keen to receive the upgrades offered by the Remastered edition.
Cities: Skylines Remastered is a free upgrade for game owners on either console family. So if players own the PS4 or Xbox One version, they will receive Cities: Skylines Remastered for free if they change consoles. Players can download Cities: Skylines Remastered when it launches on February 15.
