Those wanting to evolve Stantler in Pokemon Legends Arceus will soon realize that it’s not just a matter of leveling the creature up. Triggering Stantler’s evolution into Wyrdeer requires players to use a method that’s rarely used in the series. Fortunately, once players figure it out, it’s pretty easy to make Stantler evolve in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
How do you evolve Stantler in Pokemon Legends Arceus?
To evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in Pokemon Legends Arceus, players need to accomplish two tasks:
- Make sure Stantler has mastered Psyshield Bash.
- Use Agile Style Psyshield Blast 20 times.
Stantler learns Psyshield Bash when it reaches level 21, but it won’t master it until level 31. That means level 31 is the earliest that Stantler can evolve into Wyrdeer. If a player catches a Stantler that doesn’t know Psyshield Bash, they should check the Change Moves option in the menu and assign it to one of the Pokemon’s four moves.
Once players have met these requirements, they’ll see a message that Strangler “Can Evolve.” After that, head into the menu, select it, and press X. After that, it’ll evolve into Wyrdeer.
Interestingly, even though Stantler was introduced in Gen 2, it didn’t get an evolution until Pokemon Legends Arceus. Its new evolution, Wyrdeer, is the first of the Pokemon players can call on for transportation in the game. However, the Wyrdeer that players can ride cannot be used in battle.
Stantler has one of the weirder shiny forms as well. Unlike some other shiny Pokemon that just feature a lighter or darker shade than usual, Shiny Stantler is lime-green and looks like a highlighter. Shiny Wyrdeer carries this coloring as well but in a much milder form.
As a Normal/Psychic-type, Stantler is very handy and only gets better once it evolves. In fact, it’s one of our favorite new evolutions in the game.
