Dying Light 2 Easter Eggs

Dying Light 2’s Easter eggs include:

  • Dead Island — The game’s prologue section has two references to Techland’s previous zombie survival game, Dead Island. Firstly, there is a music vinyl for the song “Who do you Voodoo,” the theme of Dead Island. Secondly, looking out to the lake, players can spot a lone palm tree with a body hanging from it, which appears as the ‘I’ in Dead Island’s logo.
  • Resident Evil — Before heading into a zombie-infested building, players may encounter a soldier called Leon who looks a bit like Resident Evil’s Leon S. Kennedy. He asks the player to find his friend, Chris. Finding this soldier’s dog tag reveals him to be Chris Redfield, who was last seen in Resident Evil Village.
  • Hoverboard — Scattered around the city are several hoverboards. Finding all of them unlocks a hoverboard parkour challenge with a direct reference to Back To The Future, Part II.
  • Space Cock/Frying Pan — In the Stronghold mission near the end of the game, players can find a room on a higher floor with an orange tent next to a caged chicken that identifies itself as Brunek, Space Cock of the New Galactic Federation. Brunek will give the player a quest to find his spaceship part, and retrieving it gains the player the boomerang-like frying Pan Of Destiny. This is a reference to fan theories about the alien nature of the virus, as well as a couple of weapons from Dying Light.
  • Developer’s Room/Left Finger of gloVa — There is a hidden developer room near the end of the game with many references to Techland’s previous titles, like Call of Juarez, a thank you note to the player, and a blueprint for the Left Finger of gloVa weapon — a powerful Easter egg finger gun that appeared in both Dead Island and Dying Light, in various forms.
  • The Walking Dead — A billboard for a musical called “The Walking Dad” can be found around the city.
  • The Office — On Culvert Island there is a note about someone looking for a stapler, which may be connected to the bow made from a stapler that can be found, with a description that references The Office.
