Resident Evil Village DLC Release Date Rumors VR

Resident Evil: Village DLC Release Date Rumors: Is it Coming Out After VR?

Fans are wondering when Resident Evil: Village DLC release date is and if it’s coming at all after the recent announcement of the VR version. While it’s exciting that PSVR2 owners will get a chance to experience RE: Village up close and personal, those who have already played it are ready for new content. Unfortunately, we haven’t got many answers about when the promised RE8 DLC will drop.

When is the Resident Evil: Village DLC coming out?

Capcom announced that Resident Evil: Village DLC would be coming just after the game was released. At E3 2021, the devs stated that development had just started on additional DLC. However, the reveal of RE: Village for PSVR2 has fans wondering if more content is still in the cards.

RE7’s two major story DLCs, Not a Hero and End of Zoe, came out about a year after the main game. So, the RE: Village DLC hasn’t taken an inordinate amount of time. The big difference between the two games is that we knew Not a Hero was coming before RE7 released. However, Not a Hero was delayed, which might have made Capcom antsy about getting into specifics too soon.

There’s also the question of whether the devs consider the PSVR2 version of the game to be a DLC itself. No details on pricing or upgrades were released alongside the announcement, so we don’t know if it will be a free update, a DLC, or an entirely separate game. The PlayStation Blog that was posted alongside it does give a hint that it’ll be paid with its concluding sentence, though:

“Please stay tuned for further information on the release date and pricing.”

Needless to say, this is a bit confusing. Hopefully, we’ll hear more details about RE: Village DLC as part of Summer Game Fest.
