Overwatch 2 Beta Not Showing Up in Battle.net After Buying Watchpoint Pack

If you’re trying to play the Overwatch 2 beta, you might find that it’s not showing up in the Game Version tab in Battle.net, even after purchasing the Watchpoint Pack. This purchase is supposed to give you instant access to the closed beta, so you may wonder if you missed a step in the process somewhere. Fortunately, this is an easy fix and requires minimal effort.

What do I do if the Overwatch 2 Beta isn’t showing up in Battle.net after buying Watchpoint Pack?

Overwatch 2 Beta not appearing in Battle net

To switch between the original version of Overwatch and the beta, you have to use the game version tab in Battle.net. However, you may find the Overwatch 2 Beta doesn’t appear here. Instead, just the original pops up when you click the pulldown tab. Luckily, all you have to do to get the Overwatch 2 Beta to show up is to make sure the original version of Overwatch is installed and restart Battle.net.

This is made more confusing by the fact that there are two ways to get into the beta. Some players will gain access by signing up and obtaining a code, while others will get instant access by buying the Watchpoint Pack. So, you may think that even if you buy the pack, you’ll need to be sent a code by Blizzard. However, that isn’t the case. The access truly is instant, and the beta will appear under the Game Version tab when you go to the Overwatch page in the Battle.net client.

It seems like this little bug is caused by the fact that Overwatch 2 shares files with the original game. If it isn’t installed (or at least in the process of installing), the beta won’t show up in the Game Version tab. When the full version of the game releases, it’ll supersede the original, and this shouldn’t be an issue anymore.

Everything should run smoothly now. So enjoy the beta, which will run until July 16.
