Some players are facing Cult of the Lamb framerate issues on Switch. There are reports of frame drops, low framerate, input lag, and stuttering. The game isn’t that graphically intensive, so it seems like it would run much better. Unfortunately, the only fix isn’t accessible to most players.
How to fix low framerate, input lag, and stuttering in Cult of the Lamb on Switch
Those having framerate issues in Cult of the Lamb on the Switch have reported that they began when the latest patch (1.0.2) was installed. It seems like there may be an issue with this update that’s causing frames to tank.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to roll back a game update on Switch. Even reinstalling it will automatically install the latest patch. There’s not a physical version of Cult of the Lamb, either, so you can’t just put in the cart and ignore any updates.
Only those with custom firmware have the option to install the 1.0 version of the game. It’s unfortunate that Nintendo doesn’t offer this option in the official system software since updates often bring new bugs and undesired changes to games. However, the Switch isn’t alone in this. No console allows you to freely choose which version of a game you want to install.
Nintendo also has a strict refund policy. So, those wanting to get their money back and buy Cult of the Lamb on another platform are likely out of luck. If the framerate issue continues to persist, the company may make exceptions. But, for the most part, Nintendo doesn’t issue refunds unless there are extraordinary circumstances.
It’s a shame that the game is having such issues as it’s received excellent reviews. Switch users will likely have to wait until patch 1.0.3 releases to enjoy it to the fullest. Hopefully, it’ll come soon and fix the framerate issues plaguing players.
