Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s launch is almost upon us, continuing the story laid out by 2019’s release. However, with Microsoft working through the acquisition of Activision, many players are wondering if the new CoD game will be on Xbox Game Pass. Here’s the need-to-know info on whether or not Modern Warfare 2 (2022) will be part of the subscription service.
Is Modern Warfare 2 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is not coming to Xbox Game Pass for launch.
At the time of writing, the deal between Microsoft and Activision is still ongoing and not expected to close until June 2023. Therefore, there’s no reason to expect that Modern Warfare 2 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.
With that said, from 2023 onwards, Call of Duty is planned for Game Pass, as confirmed by Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
Is Modern Warfare 2 coming to PC Game Pass?
Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is not planned for PC Game Pass. At least, not for the game’s launch on October 28.
As mentioned in the console section above, the deal between Microsoft and Activision isn’t expected to be finalized until June 2023.
Once the deal has gone through, Microsoft does plan to add Call of Duty to the Xbox Game Pass and, hopefully for non-console players, also PC Game Pass.
