A new Dead Island 2 release date has been announced, but no, it’s not yet another delay. Actually it’s the opposite, with the game coming out a full week early. For those aiming to play on launch day, here’s when exactly the game is now releasing.
When is the new Dead Island 2 release date?
The new Dead Island 2 release date is April 21, 2023.
Dead Island 2 was originally announced way back in 2014 as being developed by Yager Development, before being replaced by Sumo Digital the year after that. Sumo Digital was removed from the project in 2019 and replaced by an internal studio of Deep Silver, Dambuster Studios, and they’re the current developers on the title.
Until Gamescom 2022 we’d heard absolutely nothing about the game in eight years, but then we got a massive gameplay trailer in which a February 3 2023 release date was announced. This was then delayed until April 28, 2023, but now the game has gone gold and is releasing a week earlier on April 21, 2023.
You’ll be eviscerating zombies, meeting outlandish characters, and exploring the world of Los Angeles and San Francisco in less time than expected, and you’ll be able to take so with your friends.
