The Diablo 4 Game Pass entry has been up in the air for 2022 and 2023, with some news indicating that it could be included in Xbox Game Pass mainly due to the pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. But we now have an official word from Blizzard on whether Diablo 4 will be joining Microsoft’s popular subscription service either for Xbox or PC.
Is Diablo 4 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
No, Diablo 4 will not be coming to Xbox Game Pass. This comes from Rod Fergusson, Blizzard SVP and GM for the Diablo series, who stated in a tweet on March 13, 2023 that Blizzard has “no plans” for “D4 on Game Pass.”
Now, this doesn’t exclude the possibility that Blizzard will have plans for Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass in the future, but it’s looking like the chances of this happening will be in 2024.
That said, Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed in September 2022 that it intends for Activision Blizzard’s library of games, including Diablo, Call of Duty, and Overwatch, to be on Game Pass. However, given that the Microsoft Activision merger is facing a tough challenge from UK regulators, Fergusson’s statement might be a reflection of this.
