The White Lotus Season 3 has been on the minds of fans ever since the second season wrapped, and many are wondering exactly which location the luxury resort will take audiences to this year, along with any potential release date, and cast rumors. While not too much has been revealed about the confirmed third outing for the HBO Max series, here is everything we do know so far about the popular TV show’s return.

What is the location and setting for The White Lotus Season 3?
No official announcement has been made as to where The White Lotus Season 3 will take place, but spoilers from actor Johnny Knoxville may have revealed that it will be in Tokyo, Japan. The Jackass star says he is close friends with creator Mike White, and slipped up while chatting in a recent interview.
Speaking with Vulture, Knoxville said: “Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together. I think that’s where the next… oh, I’m not giving anything away. I might call him again as soon as this is over.”
This backs up comments that executive producer David Bernad made during a keynote chat (via Deadline), in which he said: “We’ve tried to work in Asia a lot and hopefully Season 3 will be our chance to make something happen there.”
White added in the Season 2 finale aftershow: “The first season highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season will be a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” He also said at the Season 2 premiere, that “maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer [Coolidge].”
What is The White Lotus Season 3 release date?
There is no official release date for The White Lotus Season 3 on HBO and HBO Max. If we look back at the release schedule for the first two seasons of the show, however, we can make some predictions about when it may make its way to our screens.
The gap between The White Lotus Season 1 finale and the Season 2 premiere was just over 14 months. As The White Lotus Season 2 finale aired on December 11, 2022, we could expect Season 3 to debut at some point in late February, 2024. Of course, all of this will depend on the production and filming schedule, which could be wildly different for this third season than it was for the prior two.
Who is in the cast of The White Lotus Season 3?
No official cast have yet been announced for The White Lotus Season 3. Jennifer Coolidge and Jon Gries have been in both seasons of The White Lotus to-date, but following the Season 2 finale, Coolidge isn’t likely to return, as her character Tanya bumped her head jumping off a boat, leading to her drowning before washing ashore.
Gries plays Tanya’s husband, Greg, and could play a big part in the third season as he is due to inherit her immense wealth.
